Volvo V40 problem starting engine when warm

Variant: 20T CD Auto
Model Year: 1997

engine will not start without fully depressing the accelerator and often requiring more than one attempt.

A local garage has suggested a incorrect tempture sensor reading to the engine management system?

can you help

if the sensor is incorrect is it the one in the thermostat housing?

to make it as easy as poss for you go to the dealers order a sensor that you need as these are colour coded and then you can identifie the right sensor to be replaced and see how you go from there as it does sound like the car is over feuling when hot
