Volvo V40 fuel pump not working

Car: Volvo V40
Variant: 1.9TD
Model Year: 1999
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
Fuel pump in fuel tank doesn't work/fuel solenoid doesn't open correctly (vibrates like an electric motor) should open with a definite click. No fuel coming to/from High pressure fuel pump. Engine will not fire up.

could be a that you require a new fuel pump with you say the noises it makes would suggest its getting power so i would say new pump which would mean tank off unless you can gain access under the rear seat which would be cheaper and quicker if there is a cover/access point there
