Volvo S40 brake warning stop safely light + others

the brake warning light stop safely has come on also the anti skid warning light on when this happens the indicators will not work and the window wipers will not turn off als all the lights on the dashboard light up .when i stop the car for 10 mins and restart all o/k but it happens again 5 mins later the car has been to volvo main dealer but they say that there is no problem so i left the garage and 2 miles down the road it happened again so i took it back 5 mins later they said the problem was a faulty wire at back of dashboard and it might take up to 20 hours to find the problem at £95 per hour this has me worried at the cost of the repair

Looks like a instrument cluster fault , quite common . Not the best of service from Volvo .Here are some sites that do repairs IF that is fault .The only one I know of is BBA-REMAN but you could phone them and discuss what's happening and see if they think the cluster is the problem .Dont know whereabouts you are so there may be someone nearer who does cluster repairs , hope this helps .

There are wiring connector issues with the front a post connectors through the doors and also c.e.m connection,s I would first check and clean them.And that fault ,where the wiper,s run slow and the dash light,s fail or light up could be a Lin network fault which run,s through all your dash component,s and heated seat modules ,you could try disconnecting the heated seat modules if fitted and see if that fixes it.
