" The 7 speed DSG don't have a service interval they are sealed for life. The 6 speed which is ever 40,000 miles oil and filter. "
" The 7 speed DQ200 dsg gearbox can most definitely get an oil change!
The gearbox comprises of two sections, one is for gears and shafts and the other is the mechatronics unit. The mechatronics unit is the black box that faces the front of the vehicle. The rest is gear box with clutch closet to the engine.
The gear section has a hex plug on the bottom of the gearbox for draining. (This model doesn't have a secondary tube in the sump like others do. Taking this hex plug out drains the oil completely).
There is also no filter to be changed.
Refill through breather. Some people fill through the gear leaver cable selector plate.
The gearbox section takes exactly 1.7L of G 052 512 A2 or G 052 171 gear oil from VW (Stick to the real stuff..) no more, no less! There's no way to check the level.
The mechatronics section of the gearbox is said the be a sealed unit. If any oil leaks out, the unit needs to be sent to VW to repair..
There is, however a small drain plug underneath and filler plug on the top of the unit. Starter motor needs to be removed to access it. Along with a breather. It can be refilled via either with exactly 1L of G 004 00 or Liqui Molly Central Hydraulics Fluid
Again, no more, no less! There's no way to check the level. These boxes are finicky when it comes to levels and cleanliness of the oils.
VW manual says there is no need to change either oils because this gearbox has a dry clutch.
I say it doesn't hurt.. change it every 40k KM at least "
