Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
For the first time in eight years I had a warning to STOP the car; the engine temp was at a max. Radiator level is okay. I rested until temp dropped. Car started okay, I completed my journey with No Warning signal! Temp was just a little above normal running temperature.
The following day I popped down to a local shop.
I could not start the car! It turns over but there is no firing. AA patrolman apologises that his diagnostic equipment is not working; he reckoned fuel was clean and getting to the filter but he could not start the car. He towed me home and the car has been there since. I bought a new battery from Halfords but still no signs of life.

had the same problem with a Ford Galaxy (same car, differen name, an intermittant starting problem, neither one of the big rescue organisations or a locl garage could trace it. using two cars and swopping the relays, in the fuse box near the steering wheel, from one to another, we traced the problem to one of the relays - cost to replace was £8.
