sometimes my car will start fine and other times the petrol pump kicks in but the car will not start. It seems not to spark? Sometimes after turning the ignition again, it will start but not rev and may cut out again. If it does start the revs are the lowest of low but then start to increase and once they are up to normal, the car is fine. This makes me very nervous as it is so unreliable. Please help.

Check / replace engine coolant temp sensor .
