Volkswagen Polo heater lights intermittent

The lights on the heater panel in the centre console take a while to come on, and then when the controls are altered the lights immediately switch off, but then return after a minute or so. I assume this isn't a bulb issue but wiring perhaps. It's a small problem but really annoying. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Would suggest checking wiring connections and bulb fitment . If it has a dash panel dimmer switch on your car , try altering setting position .
