Volkswagen Polo burnt exhaust valve

Car: Volkswagen Polo
Variant: 1.2 E
Model Year: 2005
Categories: Leaks & Noises
VW dealership has taken of the cylinder head and advised that exhaust valve on cylinder 3 was sticking and have quoted £1200 pound to fix. What could have caused this? Only done 26K from new. Car serviced under long life service plan by VW dealership even though I paid for time and distance 3 year service plan.

I would ask the dealership to contact VW UK for you and tell them of the fault and that the car was serviced by them as per schedule and had an extended warranty .This should not happen on a VW at that mileage unless caused by a defect .Ask them why this should occur and what repairs are needed to rectify this fault .Ask them what contribution they will make towards repairs as a company gesture. It would be interesting to see what they are doing / replacing for £1200 !!!!! Let's know how you get on .
