Volkswagen Passat interior lights don,t come on

Car: Volkswagen Passat
Variant: 1.9 tdi estate
Model Year: 2004
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
the interior lights all work when switched to the " on permanently " setting. however when switched to the "door contact" position they do not work-hence when i open the doors at night there is no interior light. Is this a fuse problem or a switch problem? Or am i not doing something correctly?

Could check this ,

Interior Lights Don’t Work In 2000 Vw Passat.?

i had this happen while i was changing my courtesy lights to led bulbs... anyway doublecheck this fuse #6. [05A] Control module comfort system, if it's not the fuse it may actually be the module, unfortunately the located it under one of the front seats (cant remember which one i think drivers) and the odd time water leaks from footwell etc, (more of an issue in winter, obviously) and fries that module, so that may need to be replaced, i happened to come across one on ebay (i'll put link on source) ... no idea what the dealer would charge, i got lucky it was just the fuse...
