I made a spelling mistake it should read grating noise sorry. I also from time to time get an emmissions failure message come up on the dash sometimes it will stay for a day or so and then does not appear again for weeks any suggestions please as to why this happens?

If it's a heavy clicking noise you are hearing on full lock , it is normally the c/v joint on driveshaft that need replacing .If the emissions light is on there are many possible causes and without getting a diagnostic scan carried out and codes read , anyone would only be guessing .If you tend to do a lot of short journeys , sometimes a run down motorway , blowing out cobwebs ,does wonders .

Hope this helps .
