Volkswagen Passat possible water logged electrics!!!!!!

hi there,i'm a newbie with a headache,
i have a passat with a problem,the passenger side of the car is wet,and my electrics are all out of sorts,central locking wasn't working-now it is,the boot lock won't lock the windows won't operate and now i can't get into the petrol cap,i just don't know what to do or where to start looking for a solution,any help would be wonderful

If memory serves me correctly there is a main loom running across the floor under the seats and an earth point under the passenger seat, you will need to lift your carpets and have a good dry out

The main loom is under passenger side floor, and I am sure the body control unit is there too! Just where your passengers feet would be!

Carpet needs lifting as previous post suggested..

Also you need to find out where the leak is coming from and cure that to stop it happening again...

hi again,firstly thanks to all who replied to my post,
the carpet has been lifted and we found at least 12 litres of water,its going to take ages for it to dry out,but its the box that worries me,it was soaken too,in the manual,its called an e c u, can i get one second hand or will i need to go to a vw dealer to get one?,apparently its a common problem that vw know about
