What problems can be caused by a faulty Steering Rack?

Steering rack leaking fluid

On inspection there's clear evidence of fluid leaking around the steering rack area, it's an oily liquid that collects on parts of the steering rack.

Steering response feels vague

The car does not respond in the same way to inputs from the steering wheel. It used to feel more direct when turning, now any adjustments to the steering don't have the same affect on the direction of the car.

Car feels like it rolls too much through corners

When going around corners the car feels like it drifts out more than it should, it doesn't follow the expect line through the corner and the car seems more unstable than it did.

Tyres wearing unevenly

Looking at the tyre the tread is very worn down in one areas but has plenty of tread left in others. This will usually be noticeable in the centre or at the edge of the tyres. It is noticeable as the tread pattern will look worn away compared to the rest of the tyre.
