Volkswagen Golf window fault - possibly linked to lock

Car: Volkswagen Golf
Variant: 2.0 Cabrio Avant Garde
Model Year: 2001
Categories: Leaks & Noises
I took the car into be serviced and the guy has clearly used the wrong key or something in the drivers door lock. The barrel just turns now and does not have any locking capacity. Also the wondows will go down but not up. I can get the windows up on the key in the passenger door.... but there is no way to do it from inside the car. The window switches all work to bring them down, so this isnt just a problem with the drivers door the centre console switches and passenger door (apart from lock) all have the same common problem.
Any advice would be amazingly appreciated.

Thanks

hi there all i can say about that is firstly take the car back to where you had it serviced and have them resolve the problem as you said it didnt have any problems before the car went in for a service regarding the windows and if the wrong key was used then there could be damage to the lock but i cant see the lock mechanism having any affect on the operation of the windows but take the car back and see what they have to say regarding the fault with the window
