Volkswagen Golf acceleration problems

Car: Volkswagen Golf
Variant: Plus
Model Year: 2006
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
I’m having Acceleration problems. When I’m driving normally everything is fine and then when I go to over take someone I put my foot down and the revs just rise suddenly and then come down after a moment or two. Can anyone let me now why this keeps on happening?

Hello, I believe the Golf plus has a "fly by wire" throttle so it could be the sensor on the accelerator pedal or an issue with air mass sensor accepting air through at a faster rate. Unless you are good with the spanners you will need a VW dealer to replace this for you. Hope this helps.
