Volkswagen Golf loud banging over bumps from rear passenger side

Car: Volkswagen Golf
Variant: 1.6L Petrol
Model Year: 2000
Categories: Leaks & Noises
Whenever the car drives over a small bump, pot hole or speed bump, no matter what speed there is a very loud bang sound coming from the rear wheel area of the passenger side. We just bought the vehicle second hand luckily with a warranty. It has 73k on the clock, full dealer service history with stamps and 1 owner.
Is it the shock abosrber? Suspension issue? Bearings? or worse?
Any help welcome.
Cheers
Mike

have the rear suspension checked and the mounting points checked by a respectable garage then you will be able to have the bits pointed out to you and ask the questions
