Volkswagen Golf overheating

When I drive my car it overheats but not when it is at an idle. changed thermostat same
top hose is hot the bottom hose is not
could it be the water pump
coolant is clean-has 113,000 km

tak out thermostate and run car c if it overheats then def not the water pump so dont waste your money fella rgds paul

could be the water pump sometimes the plastic impellor in the pump seperates from the shaft that drives it and will not move the water at higher revs

could be either waterpump or a blocked rad. flush rad and engine and see if it continues if so check waterpump.
