Volkswagen Golf car won't start when it's cold

Car: Volkswagen Golf
Model Year: 2000
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Just bought an N reg Golf Cabriolet. It's been running fine but is now playing up as the weather has turned cold. Battery seems fine but it struggles to start. Any idea what the most likely problem is?
