Vauxhall Zafira hand brake.

Car: Vauxhall Zafira
Variant: 1.9cdti
Model Year: 2006
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
Just failed MOT on a problem with h/brake. Fair enough - tighten it and re-test! No! Apparently new cable was needed and i have to "run it in and loosen it up" within 10 days to then take it back to pass with no retest fee! Is this right. Reputable garage - but seems like a waste of time to me but im not a mechanic! Any thoughts?

On the many years that I did MOT's , h/brake failures very rarely only needed adjusting cable . There was usually more work carried out to pass the minimum requirements .When a new cable is fitted it can alter / settle in / stretch slightly , call it what you want and require re adjusting after using a few times .Cant fault garage for that , good practice .
