If not a broken wire , which was common on that car and is CIM module as was also suggested , there was a recall on that .It usually affected the horn , but here is a link on the subject from VX forum .
vauxhall recall
hi all.
THIS MAY BE OF INTEREST TO ASTRA AND ZAF OWNERS.
i have just received a letter from vauxhall investigations about astra and zafira models that may have a potential fault within the steering column integrated module ( the cim ) this can effect the operation of the horn, this is a free of charge recall and repair and needs to be checked by a vauxhall authorised repairer and the rectification carried out,
my bus is an 08 model zafira exclusive 19 cdti 120 bhp,
so if you have one of these and have not been notified by vauxhall it may be worth going to your local vaux dealer and get yours checked out,
and
I believe it affects every Astra H and Zafira B ever built so 2004/5 to about September/October 2010 when the recall letters started going out to fix the CIM problem first highlighted in the BBC Watchdog programme:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/watchdog/...esnt_warn.html Mine is a 2006 model and was recalled in November. All dealers have the affected vehicles on a database so you don't need to wait for a letter, just pop in and ask. Simple 20 minute job for them and it's free to you.
If still having problems , a lot of cars nowadays have the sensors built into door locks , whether that applies to your car , cant be certain .
