Vauxhall Zafira broken door wires

Car: Vauxhall Zafira
Variant: 1.9 cdti sri version
Model Year: 2006
Hello, i hope someone can please give me their proffesional opinion, i have 7 broken wires on the rear nearside door. These wires are all at the bottom were the door and pillar meet.

The wires at the door side are all fine they terminate in a sort of a barell assembelly which can be disconnected from the barrel assembelly on the pillar side.

This is were i have the broken wires were they connect to the barrel on the pillar side. can i just strip back the wires and refit them into this barrel assembelly ?? as i have found the barrel difficult if near impossible to open,

or should i buy a new barrel and transfer the wires to that?? or try to strip back what little their is on the wires at the door side and try to solder the wires together. ????

Thank you for your help and advise as i have never done anthing like this before.
Thanks Andrew.

a proper repair would invovle replacing the connector block and is often the easier option.

i had this problem on my car and i had to pull pack the rubber sleeve as far as possible and solder the wires back together, vauxhall do not sell the connector block or terminals seperately, they want you to buy a complete loom, unless you are lucky enough to get a loom from a breakers you will have to repair wires

I sorted this problem by pulling back the rubber sleeving and soldering in short extra lengths of wire. It is a pain and doubles the number of joints but allows you to place the wear in new cable rather than an old tired wire that is now too short. It is worth it in the end for a more permanent solution.
