Not sure if the thermostat is the problem, as everything is running as normal, but had it checked and they said it was the thermostat and it would cost £300-£400 with labour. I was going to change the coolant as I read that could cause a problem. Is it just a question of trial and error to resolve the issue.
Another thing is the temperature gauge needs the radio to be working ( to check the reading) but by radio is faulty. No idea how else to tell if the car is about to overheat.

Never heard of that before on any cars " the temperature gauge needs the radio to be working ( to check the reading) " . What was the fault ? Where did they get this price ? crazy and can be had on ebay at a fraction of that , similar to this
