Gearbox & Clutch
Last week the car broke down, clutch pedal stuck to the floor.
AA came out said master cylinder had gone, towed to local garage.
Two days later get it back repaired with a note at bottom of invoice clutch maybe damaged.
Since collecting it, when accelerating especially in 3rd or 4th it over revs with acceleration loss.
Been advised clutch is slipping which maybe the case.
I've been quoted £1600+ vat to have clutch replaced with dual mass flywheel as garage advised this must be changed at the same time.
I was expecting and could afford around £700-800 to repair the car, but at the quoted price I am months away from being able to afford to repair it.
Years ago had a clutch done without dual mass all be it on a petrol car.
Is the garage trying to get more work than required or is it a genuine need?

It sounds as if your clutch IS slipping and needing replaced along with the DMF . You might get it a fair bit cheaper by phoning around . Check our Business section - Brake and clutch centres or any similar in your area .
