Vauxhall Zafira electrical buzzing behind dash

Hi. I have an electrical buzzing sound from behind dash. All instruments go crazy and engine fails to start. The issue is intermitant and when the engine does start , everything works as normal. Any ideas as to what is going on would be a great help. Thank you.
