The car starts to get over heated not quite in the red, but if you put the heater on full the temp falls down to normal middle of gauge

Normal with all cars when heater switched on .You checked the coolant fan cutting in o.k ? Seen a lot of cars where the gauge is nearly in the red before fan cuts in .
