Vauxhall Zafira hunting on idling and white smokeing

Keep at them till you get it fixed or could be expensive for you

Possible causes ,

White Smoke

Normally means that the fuel injected into the cylinder is not burning correctly. The smoke will burn your eyes.
•Engine/pump timing out
•Fuel starvation to the pump causing the pumps timing not to operate correctly
•Low engine compression
•Water/petrol in the fuel

Thank you i will get my other half to have a look, could it be something to do with the injecters because the garage put some red x in to clean it n it worked for about a week, then it started again.

Could well be an injector fault Also check coolant level in case smoke is not steam, indicating possible head gasjet .

Its now started to try and cut out as well, it did it twice, it started spluttering and then hunting and chucked out white smoke its also got a strange smell really toxic, the faults r intermitent , and only seems to effect the car when coming to a stop or whilst stationary and engine in tick over. The revs fluctuate between between 700 and 1000 rpm and then begins smoking badly, but if I switch engine of and restart it clears and runs fine until you come to a stop again.

Should read gasket in post above , mistyped and posted gasjet .I'd suggest getting car back to them ASAP .
