Vauxhall Zafira ignition barrel pin broken

Car: Vauxhall Zafira
Variant: 1.8 comfort
Model Year: 2003
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Hi guys, have a problem where the long metal piece of the ignition barrel has snapped(the part that goes into the plastic switch). On trying to remove the barrel(moving to position 1-2 then pushing down on locking pin) i have found the barrel will NOT come out, I CAN ONLY ASSUME THAT THAT HAS ALSO BROKEN??? How and what would now be the best way to remove the ignition barrel??
Many thanks for any help offered

Hi there had similar before only solution is to drill down the blade slot and take apart the barrel piece by piece until you a cheese like wedge out of the top of the inner barrel.
hope this helps
