Vauxhall Zafira vibration when moving off in 1st gear

Car: Vauxhall Zafira
Variant: 1.6 Life
Model Year: 2007
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
When moving off in first gear there is a vibration/ shake almost as if the car is about to stall but never does. This doesn't happen every time and changing gear is ok generally and driving in all other gears is also fine. The dealership I bought the vehicle from said this was an a minor 'eccentricity' associated with this model but I am not convinced.

Sorry if this has been asked before but just registered today !
My wife's 1.6 '06 Zafira has a clutch judder when pulling away from stationery, ( I've tried it and she is right !! ) . Is it a known problem ? Engine mounts or clutch plate issue. Any advice please

its the clutch i have a 56 plate zafira and the same fault on mine garage said its the clutch lots of them have this problem vauxhall know about this and are fixing them gust book it in and they will fix it I'm getting mine fixed under the warranty hope this helps you

Hi, Just joined.

Thanks for the help on this post, my wifes Zafira had a clutch judder and as i bought the car from a car supermarket (The Car People)didnt think i'd get much help from my local main dealer (Pentagon). Took the car in, mentioned the fault and symptoms and left it with them.

Got a call same afternoon to collect car, they have ordered a 'clutch modification kit' for it which from the report includes a new flywheel, fluid and bolts.

I'm well chuffed because VX warranty expires on Nov 5th this year!!

Lets just hope it does the trick, thanks again chaps.

I checked today with an independant garage where I was getting my other car serviced today and they rang Gurneys of Benson the nearest Vauxhall Dealer who advised them that whilst it is not a recall item they are fitting ( when they get them in) clutch replacement kits on all 1.6 engines IF THE CUSTOMER COMPLAINS about the clutch judder

That is just a sample of posts re . clutch judder , hope it helps you .

Many thanks whittingehame - I will call Vauxhall tomorrow to see if they're still providing modification kits.It may be a bit of a long shot but worth a call

Tell them you are aware it's a known fault and you want it carried out under warranty ( talk to them nice and you may get it )If they wont wear it , ask them to make a contribution towards cost . Last resort , mention you are going to phone VX customer services .Nothing to lose , all the best .
