Vauxhall Vectra service light always on

have the car almost a year now with no probs but yesterday and 2 day the car is starting but once you stop it will not start again for about an hour or so have checked all the normal parts like leads and spark plugs but getting nowere the service light is on almost all the time. Anybody got any ideas wot the prob could be ... Thanks

Could be coil pack , crankshaft / camshaft sensor / engine temp coolant sensor . Might be worth getting it scanned and see what shows .

got the machine done on car which came up with the engine coolant sensor so went got the 2 new 1s but hasnt changed anything the car ounce you stop her will not start again while the service light is flashing which is taking over an hour 2 get her started again !!!!!!!!!!

when the car does`nt start are you getting fuel and spark,good compression etc?does engine crank over when fault present?

just found out 2day need an ecu kit but finding it hard 2 get a second hand 1 is it poss 2 put one out of an 97 car in2 a 01 ?????
