Best to get it into garage and get it checked out for brake fault as there are many possible causes .Likewise with engine , get it scanned , otherwise just guessing .

you need to check the brake shoes and replace and/or adjust them,if there are any warning lights on then get your fault codes read, coil pack is common fault on this engine

Does that car not have rear discs / pads ?

thankyou for your answers ... yes there is rear disks pads on the car someone said that the hand brake cable could be stretched as i am no mechanic i dont know .. am not really to concerned about the handbrake as i can just have it replaced .. am more concerned about why it just suddenly stops and flys off again.

i have looked at many web sites but unable to find out why it does this.
i have spoken with my local garage they want 25 pounds to run a diagnostic test on the engine.
just thought someone might know anything as to why engine loss of power.

Get it in and get diagnostic done . £25 is money well spent to find out faults .If you dont you could waste a lot more trying / replacing parts not required .Rear brakes could be sticking pads , h/brake cable , calliper , linkage etc.
