Vauxhall Vectra engine electronics light

Car: Vauxhall Vectra
Variant: 2.0 DTI
Model Year: 2003
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
I HAVE RECENTLY BOUGHT A VECTRA 2.0 DTI (52 REG), AND AFTER REPLACING THE FAN (BLOWER) RESISTOR THE ENGINE ELECTRONIC LIGHT (CAR WITH SPANNER THROUGH SYMBOL) LIGHTS UP WHEN THE ENGINE IS STARTED.

IT GOES OFF AFTER A REV OR WHEN THE CAR STARTS TO MOVE. IT DOES NOT COME BACK WITH SUBSEQUENT STARTS BUT ONLY WHEN RESTARTED AFTER IGNITION IS OFF FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS.

ANY ADVICE APPRECIATED.

Probably best bet would to get a diagnostic scan and see what shows up .

THANKS WHITTINGEHAME.

I HAVE DONE A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK AND IT CAME OUT WITH THIS CODE: P0380 (POSSIBLE GLOW GLUG).

I HAVE CHANGED THE GLOW PLUGS TODAY. WHEN THE IGNITION IS SWITCHED ON THE LIGHT COMES ON BRIEFLY WITH THE OTHER INDICATOR LIGHT BUT GOES OUT (WITH ALL THE OTHER LIGHTS) WITHIN 3 SECONDS. WHEN THE ENGINE IS STARTED IT DOES NOT COME ON. I AM WONDERING IF THIS IS NORMAL.

I AM HOPING IT IS RESOLVED.

I have realised that the light still comes on intermitently when driving, even after changing the glow plugs.

Any advice would be highly appreciated.
