Vauxhall Vectra lack of power, derates, management light.

Car: Vauxhall Vectra
Variant: 2.0 DTi
Model Year: 2003
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Vauxhall Vectra 2.0DTi.
Had start problems when cold weather was present.
Glow plugs renewed and cold start problem gone. Two weeks later..... Oil change, (10w 40 semi) oil, fuel and air filter change.
When driving for the first time, the car has an extreme lack of power as if the turbo is not working.
When labouring or driven hard, the management light comes on and revs will not rise above 2500rpm.
Intercooler hose removed, found no blow from turbo, also, intake pipe (after intercooler) collapses when revving - turbo in-op, but after removing pipe work and refitting, power resumed, for a short while. Now - back to no power.

sound to me like a turbo problem ie waste gate is sticking hence boost some times and then no boost and this would bring the management light on as the sensors are picking up a problem have this checked out by the dealers only as if there is a problem it can be resolved straight away for you

maybe mass air flow sensor, but could also be a weak vac pump causing faults on vac operated components such as the boost control solonoid, have someone plug in and see if troublr code is P0400, and post back.

Thanks for your advice guys, I got the tech2 plugged in. apparently it was the boost sensor - it wasn't getting vacuum due to a split in one of the vac pipe rubbers on the front above the radiator.

new rubber elbows fitted and the vehicle is back to health. (common fault apparently)

Thanks
