Vauxhall Vectra service indicator light

Car: Vauxhall Vectra
Variant: Club
Model Year: 2002
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
I'm a novice when it comes to cars but I hope you could help or point me in the right direction. (Vauxhall vectra 2002)The service indicator light comes on after driving for about an hour but after switching off the engine and back on it disappears but then would appear again after driving for long. Also a friend mentioned it's an electrical problem is this something mechanics can fix or should I go to vauhall garage.

if its the service indicator light that comes on then you can reset this yourself by turning ignition on and pushing and holding the trip counter button untill the display resets,it it is the engine management light then you need to get your fault code memory read

When was the car last serviced ? Is it not due a check / service ? If so , might be advisable to get it done and then get light reset . You don't have to go to Vauxhall dealer for servicing , any decent garage can do this work for you .
