Done many a homer in my time but those days are long , long gone . This company is listed in the "Auto business " section,

Glasgow Clutch Centre
67 Carntynehall Road , G32 6AA 0141 764 1901

over in the east end , at Carntyne station .Don't know if they are any good or not but if you give them a phone or go in they should give you an idea of cost etc.

If you're over on the other side of city , there's this place , over at Ibrox

Strathclyde Clutch Centre‎
218-228 Edmiston Drive, Glasgow G51 2YT
0141 427 7500‎

Again never used them , so don't know if good or bad .

Best of luck mate .

hi thanks for all your help turns out its pretty major the shims on the crankshaft are worn and when i press the cluth the crankshaft is moving due to the worn shims nightmare eh

That's bad news if it's the thrust washers on crankshaft knackered , which lets crank float about . You usually get engine knock and / or oil light coming on as well when they are really goosed. If you are going to keep car , you'll probably be best to get a recon unit or one out of scrappies .But you got to watch ,there are some right cowboys in that game .There are normally a few adverts in that free motor magazine you get in petrol stations / super markets for engines or replacements. If the thrust washers are gone it normally means the engine is well worn and not worth doing up , cost too much .Thanks for up date , hope you get fixed up mate .

Know someone over in Mt.Vernon who have used the garage in Amulree st , round from Bingo hall ?for a while and say no complaints .You would know better staying there if any good and if it would be worth getting there opinion .If thrust washers knacked you can lever crankshaft pulley in and out .
