Vauxhall Vectra increased resistance on power steering when first driving off

Car: Vauxhall Vectra
Variant: c 2.2 sri
Model Year: 2005
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
I have a 2005 c vectra sri 2.2 petrol with 55000 miles on it.When the car is cold and first started up/driven away, I notice alot of increased resistance on the power steering when turning the wheel beyond straight ahead. This cleares within about 30 seconds of driving and it becomes consistantly light again. Any ideas please? Im new to Vectras so apart from faulty fuel pumps, dont know any of their problem areas.

That car has EHPS so if the battery is not 100% or the alternator , it could give problems initially till full power back in battery by alternator . Simple checks for battery and alternator . If not that , you will need to get a diagnostic scan on EHPS and see if any codes .The other possible cause could be the EHPS pump , see here ,

Hope this helps .
