Vauxhall Vectra cambelt gone

Car: Vauxhall Vectra
Model Year: 2001
Categories: Gearbox & Clutch
WAS TOWED HOME DUE TO CAMBELT BROKEN, CAR HAS ONLY 55000 MILES ON THE CLOCK, BASICALLY NOT SURE IF THERE IS ANY DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE
Posted: Apr 19, 2010 (14 years ago)
approx 99% of multivalve engines in vauxhalls tend to bend valves & sometimes crack valve guides when cambelts snap. 2 options. 1. fit new belt, guides & tensioner, then carry out compression test. 2. remove head & inspect

As previous poster states ,would be a miracle if valves / head not damaged .
