May be the clutch and or brake switch themselves faulty like this other owner ?

Vx replaced the cc clutch swith (under warranty) to cure this, worringly this is the second time in 6 months this has been done.

or this suggestion,

hi pullout the c.control stalk it just pulls out then clean the contacts on the switch with contact cleaner then using a cotton bud clean down in side where switch came out from. i think you will be plesently suprised

If all this fails ,get a diagnostic check and see what shows ?
