i have a 2003 vectra 2.0 dit 16v. the temp gague rarely moves. when it does it goes to 80. if i put the blower on it goes back to zero. the heater seems to be ok. i changed the thermostat to no avail.also it seems to be using more fuel, and i think thereis a small smell of fumes or oil. any ideas??

hi yes just had the same problem you need to get a new tempreture gauge sender the one with one wire.and this dose make you use more fuel it tells your ecu you are still running cold

are they expensive? hard to fit?

no mine was £4.04. pull female connector off sender and use a 13mm spanner or socket you will lose a little water. put new sender in and put wire back on. run untill thermostat opens (gets hot) and top the water with more anti-freeze.
