Vauxhall Vectra parking light won't turn off

On some cars with ignition off , press down or push up the indicator stalk to whichever side you wish to activate and it beeps 3 times and the sidelight will come on .
Then just click up or down to turn it off .Not sure if it applies to that year .That may be the reason the battery went flat in the first place .Either that or get him to fix first before buying .

Well, at the moment it is only £200. If he finds out he can fix it himself, he might double the price! I have spoken to him about the car and it seems it was his mother's, not his. I am wondering if the parking light is actually switched on and he doesn't realise it. If the battery went flat because it was left on too long, when he charged the battery, it would have still been on, wouldn't it? He sounds like he knows less about cars than me, which is saying something. But thanks; I have phoned the Vauxhall dealer and they have never heard of such a thing, so I am hopeful.

Never heard of it either as when indicator stalk returned to neutral position it should cancel parking light .

Well, I shall go and have a look at it and see what's what. He says it is the same even when the engine is running, which is why you can't use the right indicator. We shall see.
