You would be advised to get the steering checked out if it's altering on road.If wheel is off centre you may need wheel aligment set and possibly balanced out if only one side been adjusted .

steering alignment affects both wheels whichever side wheel is adjusted. It does sound lime the tracking is out. Check that first. But other problems could be under inflated tyre, worn bottom arm,

If the alingment was out and not adjusted evenly on both sides , unless only slight adjustment needed , it WILL throw the steering wheel off centre.

Read the description. Steering wheel starts off straight then goes off centre. Tracking is out or brake binding on one side. Yes steering wheel will be off centre if tracking is out of equal adjustment. But would be out of alignment all the time. Even driving straight the steering wheel will be off centre. But o.p stated its not.
