Vauxhall Vectra fuel pressure

Car: Vauxhall Vectra
Variant: 1.8 sri
Model Year: 2008
Categories: Engine & Drivetrain
Engine will start but won;t rev and has very low power.
Switch ign on (engine off )pump runs for 10 seconds then stops. Is this normal?
when I depress schrader valve on fuel rail there's no "spurt" of fuel but when pump is running there's adequate fuel there.
Is there a pressure regulator?

The fuel pump should run initially as you describe ,It,s called initial prime and is normal. If you are able to carry out a fuel pressure check, that will tell you if you have good pressure that ,s what that shredder valve is for, mounting a gauge to read it,Are there any fault codes logged to help you.

There is a regulator to regulate the pressure ,to give the constant pressure required if you think it,s faulty you can try briefly clamping your return hose to boost the pressure.

as above also check fuel filter a blocked cat/exhaust will also prevent engine revving

If your cars starting then fuels getting to the engine, my guess is the coil packs done
