Vauxhall Vectra speedo failure

Car: Vauxhall Vectra
Variant: 2.0 16v CD Auto Esate
Model Year: 1999
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
While driving recently the speedo failed - i.e. went back zero, and the TC and ABS waring lights came on. No problems with the driving of the car though. The problem has been intermittent since then.
My service engineer did a computer diagnosis and found that one of the two speed output sensors was faulty and it's been replaced, but still the same problem. Another computer check since replacing the sensor indicates no problems anywhere!
When i start the car first thing in the morning everything seems ok ,but after a few miles the same problen recurs.
Don't know where to look next!
Any ideas??

your problem might be with the cable try changeing it but look at the end for wear first

These dont have a cable they operate off the abs sensor on the nsf wheel. Hence why the abs light and tc light are coming on .
