Vauxhall Vectra fuel

when i try and start my vauxhall vectra 2.0dti it will not fire up if i turn it over for a couple of mins and take the top off the fuel filter and top it up and turn it over again it starts up and it will run fine all day its just when it stood over nite can any body help me many thanks

Mostly this is down to faulty seals in the fuel filter housing,the pump has to suck air before it can run,the same as if you have changes the fuel filter,your having to bleed the fuel supply system each time.
I usually fit a new filter housing,my local diesel indie supplys them for around £20-30.
