Vauxhall Vectra intermittant misfire with engine warning light.

Car: Vauxhall Vectra
Variant: 1.8 club
Model Year: 2001
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
Hi there. My Vectra is messing with my head. I have a feeling its a ecu fault though.
It misfires, yet sometimes is fine the next day. I have even known the kuyt to switch off and the problem to go away while I am driving.
The misfits isn't like a dirty plug, its as if the engine is only firing on 3, yet other times it runs beautifully.

Any ideas anyone?

Sorry, kuyt should read light.

Try disconnecting all the electric connectors one by one and spraying with electronic contact cleaner...

sounds to me like something is breaking down, sit in the car, hold footbrake and accelerator pedal down and turn on the ignition, the engine management light will flash on and off up to 10 times and then it will flash again with less,it will do this 4 times, count the 4 lots of flashes and that will give you the fault code for the problem without plugging in to a diognostic reader,
