Vauxhall Vectra intermitant loss of power when the engine management light comes on

Starts well and accelerates well until the engine management light comes on when you ease off the accelerator when there is a loss of power and the turbo won't kick in.
This continues for a few minutes, the engine management light goes out and full powere is resumed. Can anyone assist?

Check turbo hoses / pipes for leaks or collapsing .
