Vauxhall Vectra safegaurd display?

Car: Vauxhall Vectra
Variant: 1.9 sri diesal estate
Model Year: 2007

hello there,
can you help? on the computer display screen when i turn the ignition on it says SAFEGUARD in big letters, i then have to click the o.k button on the steering wheel,

does anybody know what it means and how i stop it appearing?

From handbook ,

" Check safeguard message ."

System error in anti-theft alarm system.Have cause of fault remedied
immediately. We recommend that you consult a Vauxhall Authorised Repairer.

many thanks for the reply, if it is the faulty item you mention will it be expensive to repair at a main dealer?
