loosing coolant. when driving at over 2000 revs heater hot when stationary air is cold

You need to carry out a coolant pressure test to find leak if not obvious . You may also need a block test carried out if needed .

Thankyou for advice! I took the car to a garage last week and they put a tester in coolant
it turned from blue to slightly green.

That is a block test they carried out which indicates the cylinder head gasket and / or head is faulty , that's your cause .

I thought it had to turn yellow ?

The test detects the presence of combustion gases in your cooling system. The fluid is originally blue - and stays that way if all o.k . If it turns green/yellow, gases are present indicating head gasket .
