Vauxhall Tigra can't get roof to go back up

Car: Vauxhall Tigra
Variant: 1.4
Model Year: 2005
Categories: Leaks & Noises
I have replaced drivers door lock mechanism as the car was saying that the drivers door was opened although it was closed. Once i replaced this part i managed to get the roof to go down but now it won't go back up. When i push the button for the roof to go up i hear a warning tone. I've had it on the diagnostic computer and all the sensors etc are working ok. No faults are showing up and the roof doesn't go up trying it by the computer. Has anyone had this problem

can you open your boot? Are there any obstructions visible in the boot area where the roof falls and rises

So you have had the main internal door panel out to get at the lock, as you know the main switch unit for the roof boot and mirrors lives in the panel, I suspect you have disturbed the main connector to this unit (try to reseat the connector) or the switch matrix has dirt in it, can be fixed by removing the unit and taking to bits, clean the matrix with meths along with the contact PCB, rebuild and all should be OK
You may also need to reset the ECU (Disconnect battery for one HR then reconnect(

Hi I, ve got a 2008 tigra roof and boot worked perfect. Then roof stopped opening but boot still worked for no apparent reason. We'll started with garage diagnostic codes and assumptions lol been there before as many of you will. Cleaned door switch made an improvement as had fluff in but not an answer to problem. Tried disconnecting battery to reset no good either.,checked fuses both of them 20 and 30 amp for roof both fine. Checked wiring and all connections all OK. Checked resovour level and was OK would beep if you didn't have handbrake on or roof release catches undone or boot partition in place for boot switch. Tried these individually so ruled them out. Boot worked fine but when roof operated boot wood only open half way then stop. Answer was to open boot fully then close only a quarter way, then close rest of way manually until nearly closed then press button until boot locks and lights flash. Note you may have to repress button few times until this happens. Repeat process if necessary as this removes air from system. So much for self bleeding ha can't explain how air got in system as no leaks. My roof was out of action for a year now works a treat and I now love my car again. Also I tried replacing roof ecu and pump made no difference hope you find this post helpful thanks I also put roof down and up manually to make sure all was good and free it was thanks again.
