I am not familiar with your model but a lot of vehicles have pressure pads in the seat, ie, if you put a load on your passenger seat instead of a person then the sensor assumes there is someone sitting on the seat. Does your warning light/audio warning go off if you are not sat on the drivers seat with the engine running? If so, there might be a sensor in the base of the seat. It is possible with some makes (as my son did with his 3 series BMW) to purchase a small (couple of quid) module that plugs in to the loom under the seat to bypass the sensor and thus stop the annoying noise.
