Vauxhall Signum vibration

Car: Vauxhall Signum
Variant: design 2.2dti auto
Model Year: 2003
Categories: Gearbox & Clutch
whilst driving in auto select the car starts to vibrate when slowing down. The gearbox changes down to fourth gear and at 40mph the transmission vibrates until the speed decreases further. If manual change is selected the car changes down without problems. If manual change is selected whilst the vibration is happening it stops. If i press the anti slip button the vibration stops.
An autobox specialist advised a new gearbox control unit.A new one was fitted and programmed by Vauxhall still has the same problem.
