Vauxhall Signum timing chain

Car: Vauxhall Signum
Variant: 2.2 Direct Auto
Model Year: 2005
Hi,
Car lost power and I had it recovered immediately. The timing chain had jumped a couple of teeth etc. Its being sorted, but I thought my warranty would cover the cost. It seems that warranty would have covered if it had broken, but not so as they are claiming worn/wear and tear. Only £52,000 on clock. It doesn't seem right that I anticipated a problem and prevented the breakage and further complications. Am arguing the toss with the warranty company - any advice?

Most of these warrentys they offer are to be honest a complete joke, yes there are good companys but you will have to fight tooth and nail.
Check all the small print first in your booklet, and see how it reads and take it from there, these companies only pay if something has completely failed, ie wheel bearing colapsed and cannot drive. for future reference if you speak in person to them I,m afraid you will have to bend the truth, or paint the worst case senario. if your garage has dealt with it then they will now how they opperate.

Thanks Rizzo, I am starting to realise that being economical with the truth would have been a better way to go - in this case it seems that honesty doesn't pay. Even my garage seem to be whiter that white in this instance. Any don't worry - fight tooth and nail I will - I can't afford not to!
